Free Fun for Fridays: Look Up
Posted: July 29, 2011 Filed under: Free Fun for Fridays | Tags: awe, beloved, night sky 6 Comments »This weekends’s idea for free fun is:
Go outside and look up into the night sky.
Step AWAY from the computer. Put your phone down. Stop typing. Take off the headphones. Stop watching television. And even though Apple makes that awesome star mapping app, the point of this exercise is to be enveloped in silence and wonderment, ideally while holding hands with your beloved.
Then you can come back inside and watch the Hubble Ultra Deep Field movie while still filled with wonderment.

This is such an easy thing to do for enormous benefit. We live about 2500 feet up on some acreage in Southern Oregon, and we love our view of the night sky. It’s amazing how a few moments of embrace under a vast starry canopy can re-connect us with our selves and each other’s selves.
That\’s going to make things a lot eaiesr from here on out.
Great idea! We do it all the time at Woodcreek Ranch, where the city lights are still far enough away to not obliterate all of the sky. In the city, i.e. Dallas, there is almost no place that you can see the stars unless you go to the planetarium. Sad. We still have one of those old fashioned wheel turny things where you can orient yourself in the right direction and identify the constellations. It’s probably not as accurate as a star mapping app but it’s fun to use. You also need a flashlight to see it in the dark.
Just wondering – are you planning to talk at all about how the non-entrepreneurial partner can help the entrepreneurial partner make the business successful? Or is the assumption that the E-partner is a workaholic and will take care of the business, and all the change needs to go into improving the relationship?
Absolutely. It’s a super important topic.
We had some clouds and freeway noise, but it was still great!
